Like many bluesman, Big Smokey Smothers was born in the south(Mississippi) and made his way to Chicago. There, Smokey developed his chops playing with Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, and many other greats, including a young Freddie King who played on this record.
