The original 1968 version of this band was called the New Buffalo Springfield. Suffice it to say, Neil Young and Stephen Stills threatened lawsuits and the band dissolved, only to be resurrected months later in 1969 as Blue Mountain Eagle with a slight line up change. The band would go on to record one blues/psych album that year before dissolving a year later.
