When Robin Trower left Procol Harum in 1971, he took a decidely different direction. The sound that Robin would develop over the next couple of years would make a distinct leap from the 60's to a slicker, more produced, 70's sound that seemed to suit him better. In Trower's case, this change absolutely worked. He was able to feature his virtuoso guitar chops much better in the new format.
