Julio Pereira was and is one of the most respected musicians in Portugal. For the last forty plus years, he has been playing traditional Portuguese music, folk and world music with acoustic guitars, violas, and mandolins. The interesting thing to me is that before his place in Portuguese musical history was cemented, he was part of a psych rock outfit called Xarhanga.
