Recently, many of my Facebook friends started posting their favorite albums. One selection(Thank you Seb!) reminded me of an album that I had largely forgotten about, PIL's Album. And what an album it was. The backing musicians are a who's who of rock and jazz. The track was written by Lydon and legendary jazz bassist, Bill Laswell. Tony Williams is playing drums, and Parliament Funkadelic's Bernie Worrell is on the organ. Even Steve Vai is on guitar! Most importantly, they don't try to overplay the music despite their respective instrumental firepower. Here is the opening track!
